Diary
Miss Audrene or Addie Locke

February 12, 1815
I notice as I sit at the window the droplets of dew that sit on the other side can be seen as pools and rivers in the mountains beyond the glass. But by morning the frost will have changed their shape and the sunlight may erase their existence.
Oh, the beauties of the pools that I imagine are out of reach. It’s perspective. We see what we want to believe is there. Unfortunately the environment changes everything. I believe someday my story will be one of imagining, when all those around me would see or make it differently.
My story begins tomorrow when I escape this immense drab house of Linwood to my sister’s home of Rayburn. Do come faster tomorrow I ache for my dreams to begin.
